Indian Hockey Federation

The Indian Hockey Federation was the Indian branch of the International Hockey Federation. In April, 2008, Kandaswamy Jothikumaran, the IHF's Secretary General, resigned after a television show accused him of corruption. K. P. S. Gill, IHF chief for 14 years, lost his position when the Indian Hockey Federation was suspended by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on April 28.

Our national game being ignored since years and there is no one willing to come forward to revive the game from the current shambles.

While several heroes of our Indian hockey being ignored or unrecognized, cricket players are treated as national heroes offered with hefty awards, endorsements, thus humiliating Indian Hockey Players. In Indian cricket, formation of IPL, ICL and sensing its benefits prompted several Bollywood stars to own cricket team thus trying to make quick bucks. Sharuk Khan who won several accolades for CHAK De INDIA, a Box office hit in which he depict a true dedicated Hockey coach have failed to distinguish the game or its sentiment, How does it matter to him, it was purely an acting. But offcourse he was a vivid contester for IPL – Kolkata Team.

Bolloywood stars or the Corporates are not showing interest in Hockey, Because there is no money involved like cricket nor they are willing to promote the fading game – National Game. Its atrocious on these big wigs for their unethical actions.

Like cricket, Hockey must be recognized and adopted by Corporate’s.
